SATURDAY

Our guest speaker is Ward Silver, QSL Contributing Editor, electrical engineer, author, columnist, and general all round amateur radio expert.  His forum is Impedance Matching 101 with an add on “What’s This Ferrite Stuff”.

AMSAT, MARS, The Florida AM Group, QCWA, The West Central Florida Group Inc / NI4CE and The Florida Repeater Council will all have meeting.  All are open meetings and any interested party is encouraged to attend.

The ARRL Southeastern Division and the West Central Florida Section forum will have representatives from both the Division and Ward Silver from Headquarters in attendance in addition to our Section officials.  Visit and meet your elected and appointed officials.  Ask questions and hear the latest from Headquarters.  Ward Silver is our guest speaker.

Geoff Haines, the Section Technical wizard and published homebrew tinker will have a do-it-yourself class where each student will build his own radio interface.  This class has limited attendance and requires prepaid reservations. Click here to go to the registration form.  You must register early so we know what parts to have available.

Antenna Building Class will be held on Saturday from 1 PM until 4 PM. There is a $27.00 charge for this antenna building forum, and you will walk away with 2 amateur radio antennas that you build yourself -- a horizontally- or vertically-polarized 2-element VHF beam antenna, and a dual band VHF/UHF antenna J-Pole-in-a-pipe.  Walkups will be taken until the build supplies run out.

NXDN Forum  West Central Florida Hams have a new, exciting way of communicating.  It is NXDN, an Ultra Narrow Band digital voice, message and GPS data format that people are talking about.  Learn about the advantages NXDN brings to Ham Radio in the 21st Century with a LIVE demonstration.  See how easy NXDN is to use.  Learn how you can make new friends throughout the United States and Canada on the NXDN-North American network.  Sign-up for the NI4CE-NXDN-Users Group.

QCWA (Quarter Century Wireless Association) forum is open to all interested parties.  What the QCWA is and what it does will be presented.  Speakers are National Directors Jeff  Beals WA4AW, Sue Simpson N8AJU and Ken Simpson W8EK.

Ham Radio Deluxe  The founder of W4PC software and the owner of HRD.  Where they are at now and what their plans are.

VE Exams are available from 10:00 AM to 2:00 P.M. Come on in and upgrade or bring your spouse or child in for his/her Technician license.  Amateur Radio testing FCC exam fee is $15.00.

Also all day will be the DXCC/WAS/VUCC/IARU card checking.  Drop off your cards and have them checked while you attend a forum, visit your favorite commercial vendor or stroll the swap tables.  The card checking may be moved to the main hall if the room is needed for forums.

ARRL ARECC Exam will be given.  EC-001, Introduction to Emergency Communications.  Examinees must present positive identification and must document that they have completed the two FEMA course pre-requisites, ISC-100 and IC-700.  The completion dates of these pre-requisites are required on the exam session paperwork.

SUNDAY

VE Exams will be available all day on a reserved basis only in the main hall.  Amateur Radio testing FCC exam fee is $15.00.

SKYWARN On Sunday afternoon both Basic and Advanced Skywarn classes are offered.  Get certified or renew your existing certification.

All day DXCC/WAS/VUCC/IARU/IARU card checking will be available in the main hall.  Drop off your cards and have them checked while you visit your favorite commercial vendor or stroll the tailgate area.
